"There is no such thing as can't"

You can achieve anything you set your mind to!

Story time: when I started my journey to a healthier me in June 2018, I could barely run a couple laps around the gym without feeling exhausted. Push-ups were not an option, my sit-ups were struggling always, and everything seemed very difficult and nearly impossible in my Krav Maga class. I weighed the heaviest that I have been in my entire life, and it did not feel good at all.

But...one of my instructors at my fitness school taught me an important lesson in class last month, and that has driven a change in my personal attitude in life and in my teaching: "Do not ever use negativity in any of your words. You can always learn from your experiences, but don't view them so much as mistakes. See them as learning experiences. When you fail, instead of saying, 'Oh man, I sure messed that up' or 'I just can't get it right,' say something with positive criticism. Something that will help you improve and learn, like 'How can I do that differently next time?' or 'I took a step in the wrong direction that time...next time I'll try to do something different and see what happens.' There is no such thing as can't."

I am here to tell you folks that there indeed is no such thing as can't, and I am going to do my very best to prove it to myself. I have lost 30 pounds by working hard and working out in the past seven months, and I have passed two challenging belt tests in Krav Maga, now ranking at Yellow 2. And my journey to a healthier me is just beginning. Where will you take your journey?
